A Traditional Chinese Medicine technique using very fine needles at selected points. It may be used as a complementary therapy to help modulate pain, musculoskeletal tension and other symptoms in some people.
Acupuncture and therapeutic massage in Tossa de Mar
Acupuncture, quiromassage and hands-on therapies with an individual approach. Sessions are adapted to muscular tension, physical overload, mobility, recovery and body care.
Treatments and how they are used
The technique is selected according to your needs, background and the goal of the session. The approach is therapeutic and complementary rather than a one-size-fits-all routine.
Auriculotherapy
Stimulation of specific points on the outer ear using pressure, seeds or other techniques. Used as a complementary approach for discomfort, tension and relaxation. Responses vary from person to person.
Moxibustion
Controlled application of heat, traditionally using mugwort, over selected points or areas. Aims to provide local warmth and reduce the feeling of stiffness; it may be combined with acupuncture.
Laser acupuncture
Stimulation of acupuncture points using low-level laser light without inserting needles. A non-invasive alternative when gentler stimulation is preferred or needles are to be avoided.
Japanese Medicine
Includes the Dr Yamamoto and Dr Manaka methods and Shonishin, using precise and often gentle stimulation. Allows a softer, individual approach; Shonishin is a non-invasive paediatric technique.
Hands-on work on muscles and soft tissues using pressure, mobilisation and adapted manual techniques. May help reduce muscular tension, improve the feeling of mobility and support recovery after physical overload.
Sports massage is tailored to physical activity; circulatory massage uses progressive, rhythmic manual techniques. Used to unload muscles, support recovery and provide a feeling of lightness.
Manual pressure on specific areas of the foot following traditional reflexology maps. Used mainly as a complementary relaxation and wellbeing technique. It does not replace treatment for disease.
A very gentle, rhythmic massage designed to encourage fluid movement through the lymphatic system. May be useful in specific cases of fluid retention or oedema when indicated. It has contraindications and should be assessed beforehand.
Infant massage
Sessions for parents and caregivers to learn gentle touch and massage techniques adapted to the baby. It may support relaxation, strengthen bonding and help create a calm touch-and-wellbeing routine while always respecting the baby’s cues.
Complementary therapies
Aromatherapy and flower therapy used as complementary resources aimed at comfort and emotional wellbeing. They may support subjective wellbeing, but they do not replace medical treatment and do not have the same evidence base as healthcare therapies.
